This program works with students ages 3 - 6 years.
Early Drop Off: 7:30am-8:00am *earlier drop off can be worked out at an additional cost
Regular School Day: 8:00am-2:30pm
Extended School Day: 2:30pm-5:30pm *later pick up can be worked out at an additional cost
Class ratio is 1:8; one guide per eight students
The basics of the Primary classroom are similar to the toddler room, except the work is age-appropriate to the 3-6 year age cycle. The Primary curriculum includes the following components:
Practical Life Exercises
Equip the student to care for him/herself, care for the environment, exercise respect and courtesy, and refine their physical movements
Enable the student to order, classify, seriate and describe impressions in relation to length, width, temperature, mass, color, etc.
Through manipulative materials, students internalize the concepts of number, symbol, sequence, sets, place value, operations and memorization of basic facts
Includes oral language development, written expression, reading, grammar study, creative dramatics and children’s literature. Basic skills in writing and reading are developed through the use of sandpaper letters, moveable alphabet, and various presentations allowing children to link sounds and letter symbols effortlessly and to express their thoughts through writing
Students are offered work centers based on geography, life sciences, physical sciences, music, art, and movement education.
